Paralycid
Role
Developing game features with Unity3D.
Gameplay
As the fashion nowadays, Paralycid is a stealth-based horror game, meaning you better hide your ambition. Nonetheless, there is still a chance to fight back, each style to own enemy type. You are not helpless you have a great friend!
Smartphone - Your Friend:
In the previous video, it seemed like the smartphone was only used as a light source. While it is true that smartphones can also be used as a light source, it is more than that. As it can be seen in the video, the smartphone has 9 menus including manual calls, a phone directory (for direct calls), messages (incoming messages and incoming calls are part of the story!), a flashlight, navigation and other things that will help you throughout the game (including your way to fight off some enemies). In the video, you can call and connect to a security camera for the room you are in (any security camera throughout the level to be exact), and observe the location of the enemy, which will let you decide your next move without being noticed (this, if you are well hidden, and there are enemies you cannot hide from, but fight against with the phone!). On easy mode though, you can see enemies in the navigation menu (yes, multiple difficulty settings!). Moreover, since most enemy types are listening to sounds throughout the scene, it is possible to trick them. For example, if you are stuck with an enemy in a room and he won't leave, you can call the phone in the next room to trick him out of the room into checking the next room to investigate the source of the sound. But beware, they will be angrier if they understand they are tricked! More demonstration videos about phone usage will come shortly.
Plot
If you watched the video with sounds on, you heard some lines from characters, and they are not very kind. In fact, they are very hateful. Paralycid, although implies a state between lucid dreaming and sleep paralysis, is heavily based on hate, that's a given. However, whether you are the hater or the hated, that’s up to you. Your choices and playing style will lead to different characters with different characteristics, eventually different endings. Plans for the demo are not gone, we are still working on the game and besides working on a demo. Also, more screens and information is on the way.
